ISO/IATF 16949, in conjunction with ISO 9001, defines the quality management system requirements for the design and development, production and, when relevant, installation and service of automotive-related products. ISO/IATF 16949 can be applied throughout the automotive supply chain.
The IATF 16949 is an ISO technical specification aimed at the development of a quality management system that provides for continual improvement, emphasizing defect prevention and the reduction of variation and waste in the supply chain. It is based on the ISO 9001 standard and the first edition was published in March 2016 as ISO/ITF 16949:2016.[1]
It was prepared by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) and the “Technical Committee” of ISO. It harmonizes the country-specific regulations of quality Management systems.

IMMEX
An IMMEX certification is similar to the FTZ certification, but for Mexico. Only with the IMMEX certification can a company exercise the 16% Mexico IVA tax exemption.
