How SOLO's responding to COVID-19

Updated: Jan 28

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact the global community, SOLO World Partners remains committed to prioritizing the health and safety of our employees, customers, and suppliers while fulfilling our service commitments. Our mission is to ensure the continuity of essential supply chain operations while implementing measures that align with health guidelines from leading global and national health organizations.

SOLO: An Essential & Critical Workforce

According to guidance from both the State and Federal Governments, supply chain companies like SOLO are classified as Essential & Critical workforce. This designation allows SOLO to continue operations even in the event of state-mandated shutdowns. We recognize the critical role our services play in maintaining global supply chains, and we remain dedicated to supporting our partners and customers.

At this time, all SOLO facilities and locations remain open, and there are no immediate threats to the health and safety of our staff. We are closely monitoring the situation to ensure a safe and effective work environment for everyone involved.

Supporting Our Customers and Employees

Many of SOLO’s courageous factory-working customers continue to operate, ensuring that essential goods and services remain available. Their dedication inspires our supply chain teams to stay resilient in the face of these unprecedented challenges.

To further support our employees and customers, SOLO has taken proactive measures, including:

  • Implementing work-from-home policies for office-based employees where feasible.

  • Providing clear health and safety guidelines based on recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

  • Enhancing cleaning and sanitization procedures at all SOLO facilities.

Health & Safety Guidelines for Employees

To minimize the risk of infection and ensure a safe workplace, SOLO is enforcing the following preventive measures:

  • Frequent handwashing with soap and water or using a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.

  • Avoiding face-touching (eyes, nose, mouth) to reduce potential exposure.

  • Covering coughs and sneezes with a tissue or elbow.

  • Maintaining social distancing and avoiding close contact with individuals who are sick.

  • Staying home when feeling unwell, unless seeking medical care.

  • Regularly disinfecting frequently touched surfaces and shared equipment.

Additionally, any SOLO employee experiencing symptoms such as fever or respiratory distress is required to seek immediate medical attention.

Ensuring Supply Chain Continuity

SOLO’s network planning and operations teams are experienced in adapting to evolving conditions. We are actively developing contingency plans to mitigate potential disruptions across our ocean, warehouse, and ground networks. We remain in full compliance with government regulations and health guidelines to ensure seamless operations throughout the pandemic.

As part of our global response efforts, SOLO has also supported governments and partners by providing in-kind transportation for tens of thousands of masks and medical supplies to affected areas, including mainland China.

Safe Handling of Shipments

The WHO and CDC have indicated that the likelihood of COVID-19 contaminating cardboard or shipping containers is low. However, if concerns arise, disinfecting shipments or using protective apparel when handling packages can help minimize potential risks.

Looking Ahead

SOLO World Partners stands in solidarity with the global community in the fight against COVID-19. Our teams remain committed to safety, operational resilience, and service continuity, ensuring that we can support our customers and partners through this challenging time.

We encourage everyone to stay informed through reputable sources such as:
